Are you ready to dance, dance, dance? Tonight is the Back to School Dance! The theme is Neon Lights, can you believe we already have 115 confirmed tickets sold? Make sure if you are coming to the dance that you bring your dancing shoes, I have heard that Ms. Bentley and Ms. Day know how to bust a move! This week has been filled with tons of firsts for MSMS; we hosted our first flipped PD where staff went online to Pinkochart and was able to interact with Youtube videos, and made comments that will help in the development of the school mission/vision, We had our first volleyball and soccer games both victories for the MSMS Trojans, Ms. Caceres announced is expecting her first child, lastly we had our first sunshine committee birthday celebration!
The weather has give us a bit of a reprieve this week, however it is looking like it is going to warm up again next week. Our students are getting in all of their missing work, and trying hard to make up tests and quizzes before grades go out next week. The leadership team decided to have NWEA testing during parent conferences in order to help with test fatigue as well as be able to have conversations about the importance of testing and student grades with parents.
We had the Campfell production assembly which focuses on positive character building. Every year they have presented on a variety of different topics from being yourself to anti-bullying. As we move forward with this momentum we will continue next week with the word of the week next week being integrity. The staff suggested that we imbed positive characteristics (PBIS) into our academic words each week. Our announcements and actions will involve information, examples, and modeling integrity. Admin and staff will be giving out shields to the students who have exemplary integrity.
